Capitol Hill is the political center of the nation’s capitol with the Capitol Building set atop a hill overlooking the National Mall. Members of Congress and their staff, lobbyists and journalists live on Capitol Hill as well as others who appreciate the local atmosphere. Capitol Hill is the largest residential historic district in Washington, DC. Recent large developments like Nationals Park, have prompted the addition of many new residential developments along with supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The booming business is quickly turning Capitol Hill into a bustling community. Neighboring communities include The National Mall, Southwest Waterfront and others. The many metro stops such as Capitol South, Federal Center, and Navy Yard, help make Capitol Hill easily accessible.
